Monte Argentario

Monte Argentario in the province of Grosseto by the designation from the promontory consists of two towns that Porto Santo Stefano in the north-west and Porto Ercole on the eastern side of the territory. Monte Argentario is a promontory that stretches in the Tyrrhenian Sea at the island of Giglio and the Isle of Giannutri. The Argentario born as island in the Corsican time because of the sea currents in the river Albegna manages to create two tomboli, Tombolo of Giannella and the Feniglia Tombolo, uniting the island to the mainland, forming the same Orbetello lagoon.
